Symbol Meaning
-
In Akan culture, the leopard, or osebo, is often seen as a symbol of strength, power, and royalty. It is believed that the leopard is the king of the forest and has the ability to command respect and admiration from other animals.
The leopard is also associated with the concept of leadership and the ability to protect and provide for one's family or community. Its ability to hunt and provide for its young is seen as a metaphor for the importance of taking care of one's own and being a responsible leader.
Since the fourteenth century, Akan rulers have used elaborate displays of royal regalia (Agyapdie) to express their power and wealth, as well as to shield themselves from harm. We have erected this royal regalia in modern fashion while maintaining the style and techniques used to produce them that are centuries old.
We are Ghanaians and a black owned small business in love with our culture with a mission to share a piece of our heritage with the rest of the world.
