Kotoku Saamobe Ring
Since the fourteenth century, Akan rulers have used elaborate displays of royal regalia (Agyapdie) to express their power and wealth, as well as to shield themselves from harm. We have erected this royal regalia in modern fashion while maintaining the techniques used to produce them that are centuries old.
Sanded and polished by hand, to an adjustable ring band. Our beautiful unisex Kotoku Saamobe Rings shown in an 23 karat gold, silver plated & bronze finish are an elegant and casual statement piece to wear at any occasion you would like to stand out at. They are surely conversation starters and relics meant to be passed down on to future generations.
Symbol Meanings
- Kotoku Saamobe: The form represents an insect's cocoon, which suggests "A person's character is not easily deciphered."
This piece is handcrafted in our Kumasi workshop and made by local Ghanaian Artisans. All rings are made through a lost wax casting process. We use a mixture of local brass and bronze as a base. Due to the handmade nature of this item, each piece is unique, one of the same & any variations are considered part of the beauty of the design.
